AGM & Conference
We are pleased to announce that tickets to our AGM Annual Conference and AGM on Saturday 12th October 2019 will be on offer from this weekend. Like last year, we are offering a special deal to the first 100 members who sign up to the event, so the normal price of €30.00 (which includes a hot lunch and tea and coffee during the day and free parking on site) will be reduced to €20.00. So, don’t delay, sign up soon.
We will take the opportunity to say farewell to our friend and colleague, Paul Collins, outgoing Chief Examiner of Spanish.
Nuala Finnegan, lecturer at the University College Cork, will provide an introduction to the new prescribed LC novel ‘Relato de un Náufrago’ by Gabriel García Márquez followed by Karla Medina McNamara, who will provide some practical ideas and resources for teaching the novel in the classroom.
We have also invited representatives of the JCT to join us on the day as we all get to grips with the new Junior Cycle Spanish course and Liam Printer will introduce us to the TPRS methodology (Teaching Proficiency Through Reading and Storytelling).
It promises to be a busy day but we have left time for networking opportunities and lunch and our valued sponsors will have stands and materials available.
